Larry Moore, 73, was struck and killed by a truck on November 22, 2010, around 12:27 p.m. in Santa Maria in Santa Barbara County, approximately 250 miles from San Diego. According to the California Highway Patrol, Moore was killed when he was hit while riding his bicycle by a truck driven by John Lee, 45. It is believed that Moore unexpectedly made a turn and turned in front of Lee’s truck.

A female bicyclist collided with a sedan on April 17, 2010 in the UTC area of San Diego, just east of La Jolla and the University of California at San Diego. The 24-year old woman was cycling on Genesee Avenue at La Jolla Village Drive near Westfield University Towne Centre at 11:50 a.m. when she was hit by a 2004 Infiniti sedan. The bicyclist suffered major head injuries and was taken to the hospital. The injuries are said to be not life threatening. However, whenever one suffers a blow to their head, it is possible that they have suffered a traumatic brain injury and should watch closely.
