One Killed In Santa Maria Bicycle Accident

Larry Moore, 73, was struck and killed by a truck on November 22, 2010, around 12:27 p.m. in Santa Maria in Santa Barbara County, approximately 250 miles from San Diego. According to the California Highway Patrol, Moore was killed when he was hit while riding his bicycle by a truck driven by John Lee, 45. It is believed that Moore unexpectedly made a turn and turned in front of Lee’s truck.

According to California Highway Patrol officers, Lee fortunately escaped unhurt in this car accident. It is believed that alcohol or drugs were not factors behind this fatal Santa Barbara County bicycle accident that took one life.

Moore was pronounced dead at the accident scene. Now the investigating officers need to know what made Moore take the unexpected turn. From the facts set forth in the news article, it is unclear how the accident occurred.  This story does serve as an important lesson to both bicyclists and motorists that they need to look out for each other on the road.
