Michael William Nine, 43 of Santa Ana, was killed in a fatal bicycle accident at the intersection of Harbor Ridge Drive and Spyglass Hill Road on July 15, 2010 at around 7:47 a.m.
According to the authorities, Nine was travelling at about 30 mph, heading a group of bicyclists riding towards Spyglass Hill. At the intersection he lost his control due to an unknown reason and started sliding across the road where he collided head-on with a south bound truck. Nine was later pronounced dead later at the Hoag Medical Center. It is believed that the truck might have caused this fatal bicycle accident.
We offer our condolences to all those who knew and loved Nine for such a heartbreaking loss. If negligent driving by the truck driver caused this bike accident, then the truck driver and his employer might be legally required to compensate Nine’s family for the cost of funeral expenses, loss of earnings during the rest of Nine’s life, loss of love and companionship, and other related damages. Although this time in their lives is extremely difficult with the loss of their loved one, it would be smart and wise to consult with an experienced and skilled personal injury attorney so that they may be able to inspect and investigate before the evidence “goes cold”.
